While the location by the Hozugawa River was stunning and conveniently close to attractions like the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, the service could be inconsistent. The room's amenities were well thought out, especially the en-suite onsen, yet the overall cleanliness and maintenance left something to be desired, which was disappointing for a luxury hotel. Overall, I felt it provided a unique experience but could improve in certain areas.
